About Jan C. Johnson

Welcome! If you like food, reading, laughing over life's little disasters, and maybe thinking about the bigger things of life, you have come to the right place. Besides blogging, I write humorous fiction, though real life tends to leave fictional humor in the shade. But I'm not a total goofball. No, really. I've also written a most riveting memoir--not mine, which would be boring, but rather the life story of an obscure pastor in Liberia, West Africa. His hair-raising memories of the Liberian Civil War years make for some suspenseful reading! Discover more under the "My Books" tab. I live in North Texas with my husband, Brent. We enjoy bicycling, Mexican food, and traveling to visit our kids and grandkids.

Accuracy is Everything

We’ve had unseasonably warm weather in North Texas this fall. No one should be surprised at this, because our weather is always “unseasonably” something. When it isn’t unseasonably hot, it’s unseasonably cool. Rainfall? Either unseasonably wet or unseasonably dry. We … Continue reading

I’m a “Guest in Jest”

I’m movin’ on up… to Maine… Not physically, but today I’m guest posting on “mainepaperpusher’s” blog, revealingly titled “Everyone Else Has the Best Titles.” Her Friday “Guest in Jest” series came to my attention via another blog. So yeah, we … Continue reading

Happy Birthday to Me

My birthday is this week, so I’m pampering myself a little… Instead of crafting a thoughtful post for today, here is an oldie-but-goodie that I wrote more than six years ago. Hint: I’m even older now than when I posted … Continue reading
