About Jan C. Johnson

Welcome! If you like food, reading, laughing over life's little disasters, and maybe thinking about the bigger things of life, you have come to the right place. Besides blogging, I write humorous fiction, though real life tends to leave fictional humor in the shade. But I'm not a total goofball. No, really. I've also written a most riveting memoir--not mine, which would be boring, but rather the life story of an obscure pastor in Liberia, West Africa. His hair-raising memories of the Liberian Civil War years make for some suspenseful reading! Discover more under the "My Books" tab. I live in North Texas with my husband, Brent. We enjoy bicycling, Mexican food, and traveling to visit our kids and grandkids.

We Have Lost the Coffee, by Paul Mathews

Y’all, it’s almost getting to be annoying. In this third* book of his Kindle series, Paul Mathews puts his characters in the most hilarious, outrageous, unbelievable peril, and still makes me worry about them. Not to mention that whenever I … Continue reading

Bittersweet

For the past couple of weeks, while being distracted by Hurricane Harvey — all our Houston & Gulf Coast relatives are fine, thank the Lord, and with hardly any property damage — I also had our little dog‘s sudden decline … Continue reading

Know Yer Terms!

Y’all, I’m such a doofus… I’m taking an online novel writing course offered by Jerry B. Jenkins. The video lessons are benefiting me, and so is the online community of fellow students. We can toss a question out there, or … Continue reading
