About Jan C. Johnson

Welcome! If you like food, reading, laughing over life's little disasters, and maybe thinking about the bigger things of life, you have come to the right place. Besides blogging, I write humorous fiction, though real life tends to leave fictional humor in the shade. But I'm not a total goofball. No, really. I've also written a most riveting memoir--not mine, which would be boring, but rather the life story of an obscure pastor in Liberia, West Africa. His hair-raising memories of the Liberian Civil War years make for some suspenseful reading! Discover more under the "My Books" tab. I live in North Texas with my husband, Brent. We enjoy bicycling, Mexican food, and traveling to visit our kids and grandkids.

Destiny: Not a Laser Light Show

I spent the weekend before Mother’s Day attending the “Pink Impact” women’s conference at Gateway Church in Southlake. The conference provided fascinating speakers, refreshment and growth, lots of fun, and even a present: a new friendship with a sweet lady … Continue reading

This is “Ride” Up My Alley (sort of): National Bike Month

Hey, I didn’t mean to write about fitness two weeks in a row, but just learned that May is National Bike Month. I feel responsible for passing this news on to you, since I’m obviously a primo cyclist who never … Continue reading

Baby Steps to Fitness

Two months ago I passed an anniversary that I was too tired to notice until now. Yep, it’d been one year since I joined the Main Street Gym in Midlothian, Texas. Shortly after signing up I met with a trainer … Continue reading
